Dial Up Accounts A dial up internet account from Merula provides you with a fast gateway onto the internet. A dial up account costs just £12+VAT per month, or £130+VAT per year. This includes: Unlimited connection time. The latest V90 (56k) Modems. 100% Local call Access (via an 0845 number). Unlimited email addresses (user@<your_host_name>.merula.co.uk). Access to a full news feed and local support newsgroups. Free Connection Pack for Windows and Apple Mac.   Domain Name Registration A domain name will transform your "appearance" on the internet. Both when used for email where you will appear as user@domain.co.uk, rather than user@domain.merula.co.uk and for web sites where the address will change from www.domain.merula.co.uk to www.domain.co.uk. UK domains (these are domains ending with .co.uk, .org.uk, .ltd.uk and .plc.uk) cost just £75+VAT per year. US Domains (those ending in .com or .org) cost £150+VAT per year. If you have an existing email or dial up account the domain can be used for email with these accounts at no extra charge.   Personal Web Space Merula's Personal Web Space scheme will give you a full virtual web server with the web address http://www.<hostname>.merula.co.uk. You have access to 10Mb of space on our high speed server. Other features available to our personal web server users are: Access to the shared CGI-Scripts, including formmail and counter scripts. Ability to ftp your files directly to our server. Personal web space costs just £30+VAT per year when purchased with a dial up account. Personal web customers who have more than 600 hits per week to their site should consider paying for a full commercial server.   Commercial Web Space Merula's Commercial Web Space scheme has several advantages over Personal web space. These include: 20Mb Space available as default. The site can use your domain name (http://www.company.co.uk). Allows up to 3000 hits per week. More scripts available, as well as allowing custom scripts to be used (we do however need to check all scripts). Access to detailed logs and analysis utilities. Commercial web space costs from £150+VAT per year. Additional space and bandwidth is available if required.   Virtual FTP Server If you are expecting anything more than a low number of file downloads from your company (for example demonstration versions of software) you should consider a virtual FTP server. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the established way to download files over the internet. Merula's virtual ftp service will give you an ftp server with the address ftp.<company>.co.uk. Virtual ftp servers cost from £150+VAT per year.   Server Co-location If a virtual server is not flexible enough and you want your own machine to be connected to the internet, then Merulas's co-location package may be for you. With this option you have the ability to have your own computer located at either Merula Network Operations Centre, or at London's Telehouse. The advantages of this approach are: You can run whatever services you want on your own computer. Merula monitor all systems 24 Hours a day and alert you in the case of failure. Basic system maintenance can be carried out by Merula, you are also welcome to maintain the system yourself. (we do however need notice if you intend to visit). Co-location costs from £1500+VAT per year.   Leased Line If you want to connect your own LAN to the internet, either for uninterrupted internet access or to run your own servers this option is for you. Leased Lines provide you with a permanant connection to the internet. As standard this service includes: Registration and hosting of Domain Names.
